Irish Match Race Nationals 2025 - Grade 3 - National Yacht Club
The 2025 IMRA Match Race Nationals will take place from September 12–14, proudly hosted by the National Yacht Club. This flagship event will bring together Ireland’s top match racing talent for a thrilling showdown in J80s supplied by the Irish National Sailing School (INSS).
Up to 12 skippers will receive invitations, based on the following selection criteria:
Most recent IMRA National Champion
Current Student Champion
Winners of Qualifiers 1, 2, 3 & 4
Next top 2 ranked skippers on the Qualifier Series leaderboard (as per Section 8.2 Series Scoring)
2 Wild Card entries, awarded at the discretion of IMRA
This event marks the culmination of the 2025 IMRA Match Race Series—don’t miss your chance to be part of the action and crown the next national champion!

RSGYC Womens International - Womens Grade 2
Closing out the season in style, the RSGYC Women's International will take place October 3rd - 5th and will feature top international female match racing talent from Ireland and abroad battling it out in 6 equal J80s boats supplied by the Irish National Sailing School(INSS). This prestigious event will showcase all-women teams competing at the highest level of match racing, highlighting the growing strength and participation of women in match racing. The three-day regatta will combine fierce on-the-water battles with social events and hospitality ashore, making it a standout occasion on the club calendar. Spectators can expect thrilling duels, showcasing precision sailing and team coordination at its finest. Request for invites will close on Friday, 25th July

Irish Match Racing National Championships (Grade 3)
The Irish Match Racing National Championships is a World Sailing 3 Event. It will bring the best Match Racers from all over the country together for a weekend of intense racing in order to declare a National Champion. Click ‘view event’ to find the NOR and more.

Each MNA will get one entry for the Open and one entry for the Women’s Championship.

Crew - 4 or 5, at least 3 must be Irish, including skipper
Crew - Must be all Female
Weight Limit: 350KG
PERIOD:
Will be male and female EU cham in the same period ( 8 F and 10 open )
The event will be from 4th (training day) to 9th june 2024 in Marina di Ravenna, race will be 5-6-7-8-9 june

SELECTION CRITERIA
Due to the tight application period, selection for this event will be based solely on Sailing Resume and will be based on the following:
- Match Racing Experience
- Fleet Racing Experience
- 25-30 ft keelboat experience
DEADLINE:
Interest forms should be filled out and submitted before April 5th
Decision will be made by April 10th
Final request for invitation to event will be completed before April 15th
Irish University Match Racing Invitational (Grade 4)
The Irish University Match Racing Invitational is an annual event which was first run in 2023 by the National Yacht Club. While the event is extremely competitive, the ethos of the event is to encourage Match Racing in the third level institutions in the country.
National Yacht Club Match Racing Series
The series is starting the weekend of February 3rd running for six weeks. We will try to accommodate your preferred session, however it is based on interest and availability. There is an expectation to commit for for every week of the series. Members will get priority, followed by teams, should there be any remaining spaces, an effort will be made to make a team from those expressing an interest as an individual.
